What We Do
At KPC, we consult hemp farmers on how to grow the best possible hemp for CBD, while using ancient, sustainable techniques that result in a sum-positive impact on society and the ecosystem. We supply seeds, market solutions, support, techniques and a comprehensive plan for plant health and integrated pest management.
Additionally, we also strive to make CBD products available to customers that are made with hemp grown with the regenerative technique. We believe that CBD is an incredibly useful and powerful medicine that should be made available to all people at a reasonable price.
The most important thing to understand when considering any cannabinoid based medicine is that your body actually produces cannabinoids itself. Your body has what is known as the endocannabinoid system, which is a system of G- protein coupled receptors and chemical production centers in the body. This system produces endogenous (produced in the body) cannabinoids that are chemically identical to THC and CBD. These are known as Anandamide and 2-AG, respectively. This system delivers these endocannabinoids to receptors all over the body. These receptors are known as CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors primarily bind with THC, and are located primarily in the nervous system. CB2 receptors primarily bind with CBD and are found in bone tissue, in the digestive tract, and on immune system cells.
CBD and THC have been clinically shown to have a number of regulatory effects on almost all the systems of the body, including the systems that mediate anxiety, stress, and immune responses like inflammation. While the exact mechanics and implications of the endocannabinoid system are difficult to understand, clinical tests have shown that cannabinoids are very effective at treating inflammation, anxiety, nausea and other symptoms through regulating hormone release via the endocannabinoid system.
What’s the difference between “Isolate” and “Full Spectrum?”
CBD is one cannabinoid out of very many. Other cannabinoids include THC, CBDV, THCV, CBG, CBN, and CBC. While CBD is possibly the most effective and well-studied out of all of the cannabinoids for medical purposes, it is also well understood that CBD is not as effective when it is isolated.
The natural resin of the cannabis (hemp) plant contains a plethora of oils, waxes, and natural compounds. Through the extraction process, the inert waxes and oils are removed. Previously to the passing of the farm bill, hemp farmers were distilling and purifying the hemp resin to the point where only one single chemical compound remained- that compound being CBD. This was done mostly out of necessity, as it is well known that CBD and other cannabinoid based medicines like THC work considerably better when consumed alongside all of the natural elements of the plant, including terpenes (aroma compounds) and other cannabinoids. Now that the farm bill has passed, it has become legal to sell products that have less than .3% THC, making it considerably easier to provide the general public with a full-spectrum cannabinoid product that will unlock the full healing potential of CBD as a medicine. KPC will exclusively market full-spectrum products, as we believe that products made with isolate are far inferior, and do not pay respect to the plant’s majestic chemotype.
